If you’re looking for cherry blossoms in central Berlin, Prenzlauer Berg is the best neighborhood for it! Pair your cherry blossom spotting with a cafe hangout, bookstore crawl, or a picnic at Mauerpark for a bucket list-worthy spring day.

Once the cherry blossoms start blooming, my friends know not to bother asking me out for dinner or drinks. For these few glorious weeks of the year, they know I’m only interested in one thing — cherry blossom hunting.
I’ve already bookmarked TONS of places to see cherry blossoms in Berlin (both here on the blog and on Google Maps), but the great thing about these trees is that new ones get planted each year. Hallelujah!
If I’m not riding the S-Bahn to Berlin’s city limits to see the epic cherry blossom avenue in Teltow, you can usually find me pounding the pavements of Prenzlauer Berg with my camera in tow.
Prenzlauer Berg is brimming with pretty squares, good bookstores, and local boutiques, so I strongly suggest downloading my Prenzlauer Berg cherry blossom map (instructions provided below on how the heck to do that) and creating a little self-guided walking tour that includes at least one fun bev, a break in a patch of sunshine to read your book, and maybe even an ice cream cone from Hokey Pokey if the weather is cooperating.
Have fun! ~Claire

Claire’s Tip: The bloom times provided above are just educated guesses based off what I’ve experienced during the past 6 years of living in Berlin.
My Favorite Walking Route

My favorite walking route that takes me through most of Prenzlauer Berg’s prettiest cherry blossoms (and includes a few cozy stops along the way) is as follows:
Stop 1: Bornholmer Straße — This location can be hard to reach if you don’t know the way. Read my full guide to visiting the Bornholmer Straße cherry blossom path for detailed instructions + tips.
Stop 2: Körserer Straße — Walk all the way down the street towards …
Stop 3: Sonnenberger Straße — Take your photos, then turn back the way you came towards …
Stop 4: Falkplatz — This small park attached to Mauerpark has gorgeous trees!

Stop 5: Mauerpark — If it’s a Sunday, stop to do some flea market browsing or watch the karaoke. You can also grab a snack here. If it’s not Sunday, keep walking! A snack stop is imminent.
Stop 6: Bonanza Coffee Heroes (Oderberger Str. 35) — Grab some caffeine to go, then keep walking!
Stop 7: Saint George’s English Bookstore (Wörther Str. 27) — This is my favorite English bookstore in the city.
Stop 8: Zeiss-Großplanetarium — The planetarium is near S-Prenzlauer Allee, so you can hop on the Ring after your walk to hear back home OR you can head back into Pberg for a proper meal or some shopping.
Claire’s Tip: This walking route focuses on the late-blooming cherry blossoms since there’s more of them in Prenzlauer Berg than early bloomers.
