This is the second draft I’ve written for this post. Initially, I wrote about all of my favorite pieces in the Louvre, how my day panned out, etc. After writing all of this I realized that nothing I could say could convey exactly how enormous and overwhelming and utterly incredible the Louvre is.
In short, the old adage “a picture speaks a thousand words” fits perfectly here. If you’re prone to feeling easily overwhelmed or just want some awesome tips for how to visit this type of museum, check out my post on how to get the most from your London museum experience (different city, same concepts apply).
Now that you’re as jazzed about the Louvre as I am, here are some of my favorite spots in the museum:
- Napoleon’s Apartments
- Vermeer’s Paintings
- Sculpture rooms in the Richelieu Wing
- The Louvre’s medieval moat
Paris was amazing, the Louvre was incredible, and the macaroon I had on my lunch break was too pretty not to share.
Have you been inside the Louvre before? What was your favorite piece of art?
Signing off,
Claire

Your photos of the Lourve are amazing! I feel like I am there again exploring the many different rooms and pieces. I loved Napoleon’s Apartments, so elegant and a little over the top haha. When I went to Paris I went to the Lourve twice because there was so much to see. Also I made the mistake of going during the day when it was super busy so we decided to return at night when it was quieter. It has a very different vibe at night time, kinda haunting but cool. Have a nice weekend!! 🙂

That’s a good idea! I was basically there for an entire day, but when I go back I’ll definitely go closer to closing time. Thanks Eden!

These photos are AWESOME! I just recently booked my third trip to Paris, so I’m thinking I’ll have to visit the Louvre again. I skipped it during my second visit, but this time I’m taking my little brother along with me, so I think he’ll be wanting to spend at least a few hours moseying around. Thanks for sharing 🙂
